Information for Assessors

The University of Southampton Education Support has an in-house Support Worker Service for the supply of Non Medical Helpers (NMH). Non medical helpers are employed on contract or work with the service on a consultancy basis, depending on role. Training is provided and all non medical helpers have enhanced CRB certificates. The service is reviewed annually and work is both monitored and evaluated to ensure that the students receive the best possible service. Support Worker contracts and rates of pay are in place until the end of July 2010, and will be reviewed at this date. Research is also conducted to ensure the support is competitively priced.

The University of Southampton uses external suppliers for support services that cannot be provided in house, on a case-by-case basis. Suppliers are researched for the provision of high quality, cost effective support.
