6th April 2006 - Announcement of new Administration Centre
The Executive is pleased to confirm that the National Network of Assessment Centres now has an Administration Centre. It is based at the Royal National College in Hereford and full contact details are listed below.
NNAC’s Administration and Liaison Officer is Richard Bush, who has previously been involved with the arrangements for NNAC Audit Training days and the distribution of the new DSA report format.
Initially the Admin Centre will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Network, including the distribution of papers for meetings and minutes and servicing of Executive meetings. It will be the first point of contact for queries from stakeholders and will organise the Network’s marketing and publicity.
It is planned that the Admin Centre will undertake additional tasks including data collection on behalf of the Network. The Centre is already beginning to compile information regarding non-medical helper costs and liaising with the DSA QAG Central Administration Unit regarding contact details of stakeholder groups.
The last year has been very successful for the Network due to the commitment and enthusiasm of all the member Centres. Having an Admin Centre will enable it to develop this work from a solid foundation and to ensure that the Network is able to function even more coherently and effectively.

2003 - Development of QAG
As the result of a review of the Disabled Students Allowance process in 2001 the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) has been hosting a series of meetings that have been relevant to the National Network of Assessment Centres' work. The meetings began in November 2002 with representatives from some of the organisations involved in the Disabled Students Allowance process. The relevant documents can be found on the Quality Assurance Group (QAG) website.
Many aspects linked to the study skills and strategies assessment, support and assistive technology training offered to students who apply for the Disabled Students Allowance have been discussed. Anyone wishing to become an assessor or preparing to set up a new Centre should refer to the documents listed on the QAG website.
